My maternal great-grandfather Jesse Marsh was b. 6 Sep. 1857 in Piatt Co., IL and died 19 Aug. 1928 at Maroa, Macon Co., IL.  He was buried in Maroa Cemetery.
Jesse married 6 Sep. 1883 in Maroa, Macon Co., IL the widow of Samuel Norton Sheilds who is my maternal great-grandmother, Ella Victoria (Ray) who was born 27 Jun 1853 in Troy, Lincoln Co., MO and she died 21 Oct. 1925 at Maroa, Macon Co., IL.  She was buried in Maroa Cemetery.
Jesse & Ella had children, namely:
Charles, Herbert, & Hazel Margaret "Irene" and Anne Marie Marsh

My maternal grandfather Charles Herbert Marsh, (son of Jesse & Ella Victoria (Ray) Marsh), was born 11 Apr. 1887 at Maroa, Macon Co., IL and died 10 Feb. 1982 at Decatur, Macon Co., IL and was buried in Maroa Cemetery.
Charles Herbert Marsh married 19 Oct. 1919 at Decatur, Macon Co., IL my maternal grandmother Janie Mae Stogsdill who was born 11 Nov. 1900, Orchardville, Wayne Co., IL and died 20 Aug. 1988 Decatur, Macon Co., IL and was buried in Maroa Cemetery.
Charles & Janie had 7 children, namely:
Virginia Marie, Ella Mae (my mother), Herbert Eugene, Alice Rose, Shirley Ann, Robert Dean and Evelyn Carol Marsh.

Hazel Margaret "Irene" Marsh, (daughter of Jesse & Ella Marsh) was born on 26 May 1892 at Maroa, IL and died 22 Aug. 1973 at Decatur, IL and was buried in Maroa Cemetery.
She married 3 Aug. 1910 at Decatur, IL William Henry Heinz who was born about 1886 in Macon Co., IL and died 1864 at Macon Co., IL and was buried in Maroa Cemetery
They had 2 or more children including Delmar & William Dale Heinz.

Ann Marie Marsh, (daughter of Jesse & Ella Marsh) was born on 2 Oct. 1894 at Maroa, IL and died 6 Jan. 1982, at Maroa, IL and was buried Maroa Cemetery and married after 1920 at Macon Co., IL. to William Clark.

My maternal 2nd great-grandfather & father of Ella Victoria Ray, Thomas L. Ray was born about 1821 in Virginia and died 6 Aug. 1895 in Macon Co., IL and was buried in Maroa Cemetery.
My 2nd great-grandmother & mother of Ella Victory Ray, Margaret C. Segrass was born about 1824 in Virginia and died before 1891 in Pike Co., IL and was buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, at Pike Co., IL.

After Margaret's death, Thomas went to Macon Co., IL to be with his grown children.
Thomas & Margaret had 4 or more children, James Richard, John William, Ella Victoria and Rebecca Alice Ray.

James Richard Ray, (son of Thomas L. & Margaret (Segrass) Ray) was born 8 Oct. 1848 at Lincoln Co., MO and died 21 Jul. 1907 at Maroa, Macon Co., IL and was buried in Maroa Cemetery.  He married 9 Dec. 1868 Troy, Lincoln Co., MO to Angeline Null who was born on 17 Jan. 1848 at Troy, MO and died 24 Sep. 1942 at Arkansas City, Kansas and was buried in Forrest Hills Cemetery, at Ashton, KS with her 2nd husband, Albert Chapman.

John William Ray, (son of Thomas L. & Margaret (Segrass) Ray was born about 1850 at Lincoln Co., MO and died 29 Apr. 1937 at Argenta, Macon Co., IL and was buried at Friends Creek Cemetery and was married about 1876 at Piatt Co., IL to Ida Phoebe Louisa (Schultz) who was born about 1858 in Indiana or Missouri and died 19 Sep. 1934 at Argenta, Macon Co., IL and was buried in Friends Creek Cemetery.

Ella Victoria (Ray) and her first husband Samuel Norton Shields had 4 children, Harry Wesley, Olive May, George Arlington and Ernest Chamberlain "Pat" Sheilds.  Ella Victoria (Ray's) first husband was Samuel Norton Shields who died 9 Sep. 1880 Hannibal, Marion Co., MO who was buried at Mt. Olive Old Methodist Cemetery at Hannibal, MO.

My maternal 3rd Great Grandmother Ann (Sloan) Marsh (wife of Jesse Marsh I) b. 21, 1796 in Ireland and died 15 Oct. 1862 at Macon Co., IL and buried in Friends Creek Cemetery.
Ann & Jesse married on 22 May 1819 at Warren Co., Ohio
My maternal Great-Grandfather, Jesse Marsh was born May 1797 at New Jersey and died 10 Jan. 1848 at Lebanon, Warren Co., Ohio and buried in Greenwood Cem., Wilmington Road, Lebanon, Ohio
Ann went to Macon Co., Illinois with her children after Jesse March I died in Ohio.  4 or more children: Daniel, John, Jane & William S. Marsh.

My maternal 2nd great-grandfather, John Marsh, (son of Jesse Marsh I & Ann (Sloan), was born 12 Jul. 1823 at Warren Co., Ohio and died on 15 Jun. 1896 at Maroa, Macon Co., IL and buried in Maroa Cemetery married Henrietta Jane (Sherman) on 29 Jul. 1844 at Warren Co., OH.  They had 9 more more children namely:  Catherine, Granville, Malinda, Alfred, William M., Infant daughter, Jesse, John Jr., & Alice Belle Marsh.
John's 2nd wife was Mary Boyland who was born 1 May 1841 at Troy, New York and died 3 Jan. 1933 at Maroa, Macon Co., IL buried in Moroa Cemetery.
(no children of her own) John & Mary married 12 Dec. 1864 at Piatt Co., IL.
