"In memory of Dr. Robert Ferrier Carr and his wife Emily Smick Carr who built their home in Newburg one mile south of here in 1859 before the railroad came to Argenta.  He was the only physician in this vicinity during the Civil War.  Mrs. Carr moved to Chicago in 1894, died in 1907 at age of 98 yrs. and is buried in Rosehill Mausoleum, Chicago, Ill."
